PPSG’s transportation practice specializes in securing new funding sources for transit systems and major transportation projects, managing large scale capital budgets and projects, as well as providing organizational design and strategic consulting services.

Led by Tim Carden, the firm has succesfully maximized the value of real estate holdings of transportation agencies and created public private partnerships to facilitate new development and revenue opportunities for these agencies.

PPSG has spearheaded successful efforts to increase both capital and operating funds for transit systems by:

• Securing $500 million in federal funding for a light rail system.
• Capturing over $150 million in funds to support transit operating needs through application of tax advantaged leases on transit assets.
• Raising over $300 million for national passenger rail system through the sale leaseback of station real estate assets.
• Negotiating public/private partnerships with nationally recognized developers to secure long term revenue streams.
• Designing public procurement process's to facilitate maximum competition while allowing for the evaluation of complicated funding options.
• Assisting with the recruitment of senior transportation officials and providing reorganization models for large public agencies.
