PPSG offers strategic
consulting, project management,
and operations support to
large-scale public projects and
entities.
Led by partner Amy Rosen, PPSG's Public
Education Section offers
high-level advice and executional
support to urban school
districts, state secretaries of
education, not-for-profit
foundations committed to
education reform, and private
sector entities serving the K-12
public education market.
Areas of expertise include:
- The design of comprehensive, achievement-oriented school and system reform strategies, especially those that enable public education entities to leverage the benefits of private and philanthropic involvement while maintaining public control over and accountability for student outcomes and the system components that support them;
- The design and execution of political, media and communications strategies, including crisis management interventions and comprehensive communications plans designed to enable results-driven superintendents, state departments of education and school boards to earn broad public support for transformative innovations and system change; and
- The design and implementation of the critical operational elements necessary to transform school districts into "high performing organizations," including more targeted and aligned budgeting processes, design of data-driven decision making systems that enable all decision makers, including teachers, to regularly measure progress towards goals and to design "real-time" pedagogical and other interventions to achieve them, and effective Human Resources systems (e.g., hiring strategies, accountability mechanisms, effective professional development, and quality assurance systems) premised on the philosophy that the single greatest variable in determining achievement outcomes for children is the quality of instruction in individual classrooms.
