Founded and staffed by professionals with years of experience in public sector management, PPSG leads transformational change efforts by government entities and designs public private partnerships that strengthen public agency operations and balance sheets. Founded in 1996, PPSG is led by two partners, each of whom has organized and directed large organizations in both the public and private sectors. The firm serves as a catalyst in stimulating private investment in public projects and its partners have an established record of developing creative solutions to budgetary and operational challenges faced by public enterprises. Included among these are:
- Executing sale/leaseback of public buildings to enhance facility operations and to provide new funding source for public agencies;
- Securing $500 million of federal grant funding for a major new light rail system;
- Leading the successful turnaround of over 100 underperforming public schools in major urban centers across the country;
- Pioneering the use of tax advantaged leasing to lower the cost of capital funding for public entities;
- Developing a landmark partnership between public agency and national developer for the development of prime urban real estate; and
- Advising the Department of Education of a major state on the takeover, redesign and reform of its largest urban school district.
